The one-day ALS 1 Immediate Life Support program is suitable for Doctors, nurses and allied health professionals from non-critical areas such as ward areas, clinics, and remote or rural areas. This course covers advanced life support training specifically designed for healthcare personnel who require more advanced skills than those taught in a basic life support course. This course will provide participants with the skills for managing a cardiac arrest or other medical emergencies in a clinical setting until the arrival of a resuscitation team or paramedics. The course covers recognition of the critically ill patient, airway management, resuscitation procedures, defibrillation and basic resuscitation drug therapy.Assessment is continuous throughout the course. Continuing education:

  • RACGP: QA&CME Cat 1, 40 points EM & CPR
  • ACRRM: 5 PDP, 2 ESP, 10 ACS & 1 day EM PG
  • NMBA: 7 CPD Points
