Delivered in partnership with BOB COOPER Outback Survival we have created the BEST Remote Area First Aid and Survival program available. The student will learn all the essential requirements for providing emergency care in a remote situation and also cover the basics of survival from Australia’s leading survival expert.
This Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency, HLTAID005 Provide first aid in remote situations Unit of Competency will be issued. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response and emergency life support to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation. The unit applies to workers who may be required to prepare for and provide a first aid response in locations beyond the reach of timely medical assistance. This program is recommended for surveyors, geologists, exploration teams, scout leaders and four-wheel drive enthusiasts, tour bus operators and more. Our creative style of Training and Assessment enables the student to fully understand the principles of First Aid in remote situations.
Bob Cooper Outback Survival
Bob conducts survival courses for government agencies and private companies throughout Australia. He has instructed with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Rangers on desert survival courses over a number of years in the USA, and is a frequent guest speaker on ABC talkback radio. He has also featured in several major television documentaries. These include National Geographic America, BBC, Discovery Channel, The World Around Us and 60 Minutes.
Many irrational fears cloud people’s engagement with our wilderness – even in the bushlands of suburbia. The fear of snakes, spiders, becoming lost and being alone are all acquired fears. Survival skills can replace fear with respect for, and trust in, nature. Such knowledge enables people to walk freely and feel safer in our natural environment (Bob Cooper).

- Basic Outback Survival Certificate.
